POS system hack

Lucky Supermarkets releases full page warning to customers who used their self checkout stands in 20 of their locations. Supposedly, criminals were able to replace or modify the card terminals used for running credit cards with equipment that would skim customer’s information. Always check card readers to see if they have been tampered. If you are a business, checking with professionals like Alpine to ensure customer security is helpful.

PCI compliance- why you need to follow

PCI compliance is extremely important when running a company. For instance, four Romanians were able to successfully hack into Subway POS systems, plan Trojans and keystroke loggers. From 2008 to 2011 they were able to steal over 80,000 customer’s card information. If you are unsure of the security your POS system has in place, contact Alpine and let us help you out.
